Project Overview
Riddles and Roses is a new cafe that recently opened up in Crete, Nebraska that is themed around the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. The cafe serves a variety of drinks and meals that all have a connection to the original story and both indoor and outdoor areas are decorated and styled to look outlandish and whimsical. The owners hope to spread the word about the new cafe and attract customers outside of the town as well. A promotional campaign will be used to advertise the news about the new playful cafe that opened up in the town next door.
Project Goals
A target goal I had when working on this project was to design elements that all correlated to the Queen of Hearts in some manner. I did my best to include as many references as I could. The illustrations played a major role throughout every piece, as I wanted them to give off a resemblance to the art seen in the original story. Some of the art was also inspired by the concept sketches used in the Disney adaption of the fairytale.
Perception and Tone
This campaign emulates a whimsical, magical, and outlandish feeling but also has a sense of comfort and liveliness.
